About The Role:

At Walr, the Frontend Software Developer plays a crucial role in building high-quality web applications. We’re seeking someone who thrives in both independent work and team collaboration. You should excel in a fast-paced environment, balancing your own technical responsibilities while supporting the team and taking full ownership of frontend projects when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Frontend Software Development:

• Lead the design, development, and continuous enhancement of high-performance, scalable web applications using JavaScript (and/or TypeScript) and ReactJS.

• Drive the creation of responsive, interactive, and user-friendly interfaces that function seamlessly across various browsers.

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend systems through well-structured APIs.

• Set and uphold high standards throughout the development process, with a focus on performance optimization, modularity, maintainability, and security.

• Oversee the maintenance and evolution of frontend build systems, including tools for bundling, transpiling, linting, and testing.

• Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices to ensure team-wide consistency and quality.

Collaborative Development:

• Work within agile, cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that delight users and drive business value.

• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.

• Adopt a product-focused approach to development, prioritizing solutions that maximize user value while aligning with business objectives.

• Engage in all phases of product development, from ideation through to production, contributing to the continuous delivery of new features.

Leadership and Mentorship:

• Lead technical discussions, offering guidance on architectural decisions and ensuring adherence to best practices in software design and development.

• Mentor and coach engineers, promoting a collaborative environment and supporting their growth in technical expertise and career development.

Desired Experience:

• 5+ years of experience developing complex frontend web applications.

• Expertise in JavaScript (or TypeScript) and ReactJS, with a strong focus on component-based architecture and state management.

• Proven ability to create responsive, accessible UIs with cross-browser compatibility.

• Proficient in modern build tools like Webpack and Babel, with a solid grasp of frontend development and testing frameworks.

• Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and CSS pre-processors.

• Strong experience integrating with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.

• Skilled in DevOps practices including CI/CD, automation, and security.

• Experienced in agile, cross-functional teams.

• Strong product mindset, focusing on user-centric, value-driven solutions.

Desired Skills & Attributes:

• Experienced in defining and implementing software design standards and principles.

• Familiar with modern web application architecture, including micro frontends.

• Proficient in working with design systems and reusable component libraries.

• Experience in SaaS-based operating environments.

• Competent in C# and .NET development.

• Knowledgeable in cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, for frontend hosting and deployment.
